LaLiga, new sponsorship agreement with EA Sports: revenue doubles
Spain’s Primera División de Fútbol (LaLiga) doubled its revenue by signing a new name sponsorship deal starting in the 2023-2024 season.
The institution of LaLiga, which includes the clubs from the 1st and 2nd leagues in Spain, presented the sponsors of these leagues in the new season at the gala. The American manufacturer of computer games EA Sports has signed a sponsorship agreement with LaLiga for the next 5 years.
Consequently, starting next season, the first league will be called La Liga EA Sports and the second league will be called La Liga EA Sports Hypermotion.
TWICE MORE INCOME
Having entered into a sponsorship deal with a foreign company for the first time in its history, LaLiga will generate at least twice the revenue of the sponsorship deal with Spanish banks named Santander, followed by the first BBVA in the last 10 years.
It is stated that EA Sports will make a financial contribution of 40,000 million euros per season (for both leagues) to LaLiga for 5 years.
On the other hand, LaLiga, which presented the sponsorship agreement with the slogan “a new beginning”, plans to change its logo and make football more visible and commercial with new technologies.

In his speech at the gala, LaLiga president Javier Tebas said: “We are beginning a new era that will bring revolutionary change for both Spanish football and the football industry. We do this with strategic partnerships and clubs like EA Sports. Together we want to offer a better football for society and a better society for our football”. he gave the message from him.
During the promotion it has also been shared that the income from broadcasting rights of LaLiga, which was 860 million euros in the 2014-2015 season, increased to 2.69 million euros per year from 2022-2023 to the 2026-2027 season, which is a record for Spanish football.
According to the latest report from the Deloitte company on the financial situation of the soccer industry, LaLiga is the second soccer league in Europe with the highest turnover of 3,277 million euros, after the English Premier League (6,442 million euros). (AA)
