Finished the third stage of the Tour de France

Jasper Philipsen wins the third stage of the Tour de France

The third stage of the Tour de France, the most prestigious road cycling race, organized for the 110th time this year, has finished.

In the 193.5-kilometre stage between Spain’s Amorebieta-Etxano and the French towns of Bayonne, Belgian Jasper Philipsen of the Alpecin-Deceuninck team was first with a time of 4 hours 43 minutes 15 seconds.

German athlete Phil Bauhaus from Bahrain Victorious finished second and Australian Caleb Ewan competing for the Lotto-Dstny team finished third.

The leader of the general classification, the British Adam Yates (UAE Emirates), retained the yellow jersey with a total time of 13 hours 52 minutes 33 seconds.

The event will continue tomorrow with the 181.8 kilometer stage between the towns of Dax and Nogaro.

The tour will end in Paris, the capital of France, on Sunday, July 23, with the completion of 21 stages. (AA)
