Statement by Lucas Torreira’s coach: I will meet with Lazio
Pablo Bentancur, coach of Galatasaray star footballer Lucas Torreira, made statements about the future of the footballer.
“Torreira had a great season at Pescara and he proved himself at Sampdoria,” Bentancur told the Italian press. Arguably, he was the best midfielder in his first year at Arsenal. Regarding a possible transfer to Lazio, Bentancur said: “I have to be honest. I have a formal meeting with the club next week to hear his proposal. They will play the Champions League and Lucas has always loved Italy. But I must be very clear. He’s not for sale, but business is business. We have an appointment and we leave. Paying tribute to Lazio, a great club, we will listen to what they have to offer.” he said.
Torreira, who played 34 games for Galatasaray last season and gave 1 assist, played a key role in the defense of the yellow and red team with his laborious performance in midfield.
On loan from Arsenal to Galatasaray for €6m, the 27-year-old Torreira previously played for Pescara, Sampdoria and Italy’s Fiorentina.
