The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has decided that the world championships will be held every two years.

In the FIVB statement, it was noted that the board of directors, which prioritizes the health and well-being of athletes, as well as the needs of volleyball players, approved the calendar between 2025 and 2028.

According to the schedule, the world championships will take place in 2025 and 2027, and the intercontinental championships will take place in 2026 and 2028, when the Los Angeles Olympics will take place. The League of Nations will be on the calendar every year.

With its earlier decision, the FIVB increased the number of teams participating in the world championships to 32. At the World Championship, where teams will be divided into eight groups of four, the top two teams in their groups will win tickets to the round of 16.

In addition to the host USA, the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games will be attended by a total of 12 teams, including 5 intercontinental champions, the top 3 teams that will finish the 2027 World Championship and the 3 countries with the highest ranking points. world. (AA)
