In early January 2022, the Croatian first went on loan to St. Gallen 1879 before being signed in the summer of the same year. Maglika played 52 competitive matches for Grunweis in a season and a half.
VfB Stuttgart is now exercising an option to buy the 24-year-old centre-back, the FCSG said in a statement. Both clubs agreed not to disclose the terms of the transfer.
In an emotional Instagram post, Maglika says goodbye to the Espens:
“We are happy with laughter and tears in Matej’s eyes that Stuttgart is bringing him back. We wish him all the best in his future career,” said sporting director Alain Sutter.
