Manchester City and Pep Guardiola made history!
Manchester City, who have left their mark on English football with their successes in recent years, broke an all-time record by winning the UEFA Champions League after the Fed Cup.
Manchester City, which has won the championship rope in 5 of the last 6 years in the Premier League, has won 11 of the 21 local trophies in the seven years in charge of Spanish coach Pep Guardiola with victory in the FA Cup.
Manchester City, under Pep Guardiola, achieved historic success by beating Inter 1-0 in the final, hosted by Istanbul, in the Premier League and Fed Cup this season, adding the UEFA Champions League.
Leaving favorites Istanbul with the trophy, the Manchester team became the second club to achieve a “treble” in English football after 24 years.
Manchester United broke new ground in English football history by winning the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League in 1999, under the manager of “Sir” Alex Ferguson.
NEW RECORD FOR THE GUARDIOLA “COLLECTION”
Pep Guardiola, 52, who won all three trophies with Manchester City, made history as the first manager to do so twice.
In 2009, when Guardiola was coaching Barcelona, he made a “trilogy” as champions of LaLiga, Spain’s Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League.
The Catalan representative, who dominated European football at that time, brought to his museum the Spanish Super Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup, as well as three cups.
THE JOY OF GUARDIOLA’S THIRD CHAMPIONSHIP
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has enjoyed the Champions League trophy for the third time in his career.
The experienced coach had won the European Cup No. 1 championship in the 2008-2009 and 2010-2011 seasons when he was coaching Barcelona. (AA)
