4-0 home win: St. Gallen sent Sion under heavy fire

In the last game of the season, St. Gallen literally knocked Sion out of the stadium, scoring four goals. While Vala now has to play games in the fences, the Espens miss out on the jump to Europe. FC Basel wins 3:1 against GK at the same time.

The FCSG rewarded its loyal fans with a third home win in 2023. It was almost royally rewarded. By the break, the green-whites were practically in 5th place and thus in the conference league.

Valais’s hopes for a big release in the relegation battle were brutally quickly dashed by St. Gallen. Emmanuel Latte Lat, Espen’s top scorer, scored in the 5th and 21st minutes. Julian von Moos cleared things up immediately by hitting the crossbar in injury time in the first half.

Sion, who ended the regular season with eight games and just one point, will have to avoid relegation in Barrage against Lausanne-Ouchy on June 3 and 6.
