Caroline García says goodbye to Roland Garros in the second round

At the French Open (Roland Garros), the second Grand Slam tennis tournament of the season, fifth-seeded women Caroline Garcia was defeated by Anna Blinkova 2-1 and eliminated in the second round.

On the 4th day of the tournament that takes place in the capital Paris, in the match of the 2nd day of the women’s singles, García played in front of the public and Blinkova, number 56 in the world.

Despite losing the first set 6-4, Blinkova won the next sets 6-3 and 7-5, advancing to the next round after 2 hours and 51 minutes.

Peyton Stearns, ranked 69th, defeated 2017 champion Jelena Ostapenko (17th seed) 2-1 to reach the 3rd round.

Jessica Pegula (seeded 3) and Daria Kasatkina (9) also continued on their way.

In men, the 2021 finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas (5) defeated Roberto Carballes with a score of 3-0 (6-3, 7-6, 6-2) and obtained a 3rd round visa. (AA)
