Nadal has retired! Announced the farewell date of the courts

Rafael Nadal announces the end of his career

Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from the 2023 French Open. The Spanish tennis player failed to win the health battle following a hip injury suffered in January.

The 14-time Roland Garros champion announced his decision at a press conference on Thursday, ahead of the tournament that begins on May 28. “It’s not a decision that I make, it’s a decision that my body makes,” Nadal told reporters at the Mallorca tennis academy.

Nadal also announced that he will end his career in 2024.

The 22 Grand Slam champions had expected Mackenzie McDonald’s injury from their second-round loss at the Australian Open to only last six to eight weeks, but brief video surfaced last week of him writhing in pain during a practice session. .

Now more questions will arise about the future of one of the greats of modern tennis. Nadal will turn 37 at the beginning of next month. The list of pre-registered for this tournament will be announced on Monday, since there is a great doubt about the player’s participation in Wimbledon, which will begin three weeks after the end of the competition in Paris.
