Union Berlin close to the stars, Bayern with a resounding victory

Union Berlin takes a big step towards the first participation in the Champions League. Urs Fischer’s side beat Freiburg 4-2 on Matchday 32 of the Bundesliga. Bayern remain in the lead.

Union Berlin has been convincing for almost five seasons under the leadership of Fischer, above all by the cohesion of the team. However, in one of the most important games in the club’s history, one clearly stood out: Sheraldo Becker gave Kevin Behrens a 1–0 lead in the 5th minute, and half an hour later, within three minutes, scored two goals. -0 lead. And when, after the break, Freiburg was one step away from the goal, Becker once again ran away from everyone and played perfectly on Aissa Laiduni, making the score 4:2.

Becker, who was born in Amsterdam and only played for the Dutch national team as a junior, has been on a contract with Union since the summer of 2019 and has scored 36 goals after 91 Bundesliga games. The last four could be worth their weight in gold: Fischer’s side now have three points and an eight-goal lead over Freiburg. With a victory in one of the last two games – either over Hoffenheim or Werder Bremen – entry into the Champions League should be ideal.

Shooting festival in Munich.

Union Berlin could no longer interfere in the championship race after the last three months which were not so good. There, Bayern Munich remains in the best position in the duel with Dortmund. The reigning champions showed no problems with Schalke (6-0), who were threatened with relegation: Thomas Müller, Joshua Kimmich, Mathis Tel, Nussair Mazraoui and twice Serge Gnabry scored in favor of the leader, who played at least until the Saturday night game from Dortmund against Mönchengladbach, has a margin of four points.

Both Swiss, Michael Frey and Cedric Brunner, have played at Schalke from the very beginning. Brunner converted a penalty with a swift effort, which Kimmich converted 2-0 almost half an hour later. The defeat was not without consequences: Bochum ended a six-game winless streak with a 3-2 home win against relegation-threatened Augsburg, sending Schalke into the relegation zone.
