Rivaldo: ‘Cristiano Ronaldo was scammed for money’
Brazilian legend Rivaldo has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo was ‘cheated’ out of his contract with Al Nassr and should return to Real Madrid.
The Portuguese star joined Saudi Arabian Professional League side Al Nassr in January, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract worth £173 million per year. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid player had to adjust to a different lifestyle, but the Brazilian legend wants Ronaldo to return to Real Madrid.
“I understand that sometimes players are fooled by signing big contracts in Saudi Arabia, but life there is more closed and football is not always as easy as you might expect.” Rivaldo spoke in statements to Mundo Deportivo.

“A LIFE THAT IS NOT VERY HAPPY”
“So you may be going through a phase of frustration or even reflection. If the money you receive makes up for the not so happy life you currently lead. For football it would be good for him and for football to see Cristiano Ronaldo finish his career at Real Madrid ”.
“Of course, the fans need to understand that they can’t demand what is expected of him at the age of 25 or 26, but he can still help the club to more wins.”
EMBASSY OFFER FROM REAL MADRID TO RONALDO
Last week it was reported that Real Madrid had prepared an offer for Ronaldo to return as the club’s ambassador. Ronaldo’s partner, Georgina Rodríguez, is reportedly unhappy in Saudi Arabia and wants to return to Spain.
The Portuguese striker was also linked to Saudi-backed Newcastle United, but manager Eddie Howe immediately denied a transfer rumour.
Howe said: “Many names are not correct. We have to transfer players wisely. We want to explore them before they explode on the world stage. We have to find and develop at an early age. We know our address.
