Manchester City take top spot Erling Haaland leaves legends behind

Manchester City beat West Ham United 3-0 at home in the English Premier League.

On matchday 34 of the Premier League, Manchester City defeated West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium with goals from Nathan Ake in the 50th minute, Erling Haaland in the 70th and Phil Foden in the 85th.

Haaland became the top scorer in a season in the Premier League, with 35 goals. The Norwegian footballer surpassed Alan Shearer and Andy Cole with 34 goals each.

Manchester City, a game away, earned their ninth straight win and moved up to 79 points, one point ahead of Arsenal. West Ham United are in 15th place with 34 points.

In the other game of the day, Liverpool defeated Fulham 1-0 in the 39th minute with a penalty goal from Mohammed Salah. Having won 5 consecutive victories, Liverpool ranked fifth with 59 points. (AA)
