NCAA Champion UConn Huskies
The UConn Huskies defeated the San Diego State Aztecs 76-59 in the American College Sports Federation (NCAA) Men’s Basketball League Final to become champions.
UConn, the University of Connecticut team, which has 31 wins and 8 losses in USA men’s college basketball this season, faced the Aztecs, the San Diego State University team that finished the season with 32 wins and 7 losses, at NRG Stadium in the city of Houston.
Finishing the first half up 36-24, UConn maintained its lead in the second half and won the game 76-59. Thus, the UConn Huskies won their fifth title after 1999, 2004, 2011 and 2014.
UConn’s 21-year-old Malian Adama Sanogo, who produced 17 points, 10 rebounds and 1 assist in the final, was deemed worthy of the NCAA Men’s Basketball League Final Four “Outstanding Player” award.
Keshad Johnson’s 14 points and 4 rebounds for San Diego State couldn’t prevent the loss. (AA)
