F1 has made its final decision for Fernando Alonso!

Third place in the F1 Saudi Arabian GP is once again for Fernando Alonso

In the second stage of the Formula 1 World Championship, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso finished third. Although he finished the race in third place, the penalty imposed on the Spanish driver was reassessed, and he dropped to fourth place due to the 10-second penalty he received.

In the statement from the International Automobile Federation (FIA), it was indicated that after the objection of the Aston Martin team, the decision was reassessed in light of new evidence and oral statements, and the sentence issued against Alonso was withdrawn.

It was emphasized that the contact of the Aston Martin mechanics with the vehicle during the “pit stop”, which caused the sanction, can be evaluated in the work action standard and the sanction was withdrawn because there is no clear statement on this issue. in the rules.

ALONSO WAS SENTENCED FOR 5 SECONDS

With this result, Alonso was considered to have finished the race in third place before the penalty. Mercedes’ George Russell’s qualifying fell from third to fourth. Alonso, who was handed a five-second penalty for incorrectly positioning his car in the gap where he was to start, was examined by the stewards’ committee as to whether or not he was penalized correctly.

Determining that the mechanics touched Alonso’s car within 5 seconds during the pit stop, the stewards decided to apply a 10-second penalty for this reason. After evaluation, the top 5 driver and team rankings after the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix were as follows:
