Ja Morant’s punishment increased, posing with a gun in hand!
Star player for NBA team Memphis Grizzlies Ja Morant will be out of the team for at least 4 more games due to the social media post that he has a gun in hand.
In the statement on the Grizzlies website, it was revealed that the suspension of Morant, who was excluded from the roster in the last 2 games, has been extended for at least 4 more games.
Meanwhile, the Glendale Police Department, which is investigating the incident, announced that no evidence of crime has been found and no charges will be filed against the 23-year-old basketball player.
NBA management, which launched an investigation into the incident, has yet to make a sanction decision regarding Morant.
The American basketball player, who showed the weapon in his hand in part of the video he took while dancing at the disco, broadcast the image live from his Instagram account. Morant later apologized to the city and the Memphis club for his behavior.
Morant, who spent his fourth year in the league, was honored as rookie of the year in 2020 and developmental player of the year in 2022, as well as a two-time All-Star selection.
Playing with 27.1 points, 8.2 assists and 6 rebounds per game this season, the basketball star is one of the top figures dragging the Grizzlies. Having lost the last two games Morant hasn’t played, the Grizzlies are third in the Western Conference with 38 wins and 26 losses.
The Golden State Warriors will miss back-to-back games against the Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat, and Morant will be able to return to the parks with a fight against the San Antonio Spurs if he doesn’t receive another penalty.
