Carlos Alcaraz returns with a win
The 19-year-old tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, who participated in the 250 tournament of the Professional Tennis Association (ATP) held in Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina, defeated Serbian Dusan Lajovic 2-1 6-2, 4-6 and 6 – 2 sets after two hours of fighting, he won and advanced to the quarterfinals.
Expressing his feelings after the match, Alcaraz said: “It’s a great feeling to win again. It had been a long time since I had played in a tournament or a match. I just waited for the recovery. “I’m happy to have my first win this year,” he said.
Alcaraz, who won 5 tournaments, one of them a Grand Slam last season, and climbed to the top of the world ranking with his outstanding performance, was left out of court after his injury in November.
Alcaraz fell to second place after Serbian Novak Djokovic topped the world rankings by winning the Australian Open, the first Grand Slami of the season. (AA)
