Together with the Eljif Elmas team, he started a relief campaign for the victims of the earthquake.
The Normacedonian footballer Eljif Elmas, who plays for Napoli, one of the teams in the Italian First Football League (Serie A), stated that they are considering an aid campaign with his team for Turkey, which was affected by the earthquakes in Kahramanmaras.
Eljif Elmas announced the aid campaign in a short video shared on his Instagram account: “I am very sorry for my country. I’m trying to do the best I can. Apart from the help, we as the Napoli team are planning and thinking about an income and we hope to send it to Turkey as a donation as soon as possible. We look forward to your help,” he said.
The 23-year-old Elmas also showed off the Napoli jersey they signed as a team in another post he made, saying: “For my dear Turkey, we are auctioning off our jerseys with my teammates. We look forward to your help.”
Eljif Elmas also shared photos showing the jerseys signed by his teammates Georgian Kvicha Kvaratskelia and Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
Elmas, who scored the third goal in Napoli’s 3-0 win over Cremonese on matchday 22 of Serie A at the weekend, showed that he dedicated his goal to Turkey by making the crescent and star with his hands during goal celebration. (AA)
