At minus 19 degrees, he made it up the mountain in just shorts!

Andre Schürrle’s new adventure: mountain hiking

Former German star soccer player Andre Schürrle led his career in mountain hiking. After playing on green fields in important teams such as Mainz 05, Bayer Leverkusen, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg, Fulham and Spartak Moscow, Schürrle, who left football in 2020 at the age of 29, embarked on a new adventure in his career. . .

Schürrle, who learned the methods of breath control from Dutch adventurer Wim Hof, known as the “Iceman” for his resistance to extreme cold, and went into action after months of lessons, had his first experience with mountain hiking. .

Schürrle, who went to the Snezka mountain at an altitude of 1,603 meters on the border of the Czech Republic and Poland, where the air temperature drops to minus 19 degrees in winter, walking only in shorts, shared his joy with the videos and photos he took from her Instagram account on the social network after reaching the top.

Emphasizing that he enjoyed this sport in extremely difficult conditions, Schürrle said: “Thanks to the third day and the experience I got from Wim Hof, I am enjoying coming to the top with a great team. This has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done, mentally and physically. As I approached the top, I couldn’t feel any part of my body, and I was able to do it by using the last energy inside of me. Such an experience, I will never forget. I was left with -19 degrees of cold, snow and rain with the wind in my face at 100 kilometers of speed. I learned that my body is much stronger than I had anticipated. When I unite my mind and soul, I can do anything.” he used the phrases.

Schürrle scored 22 goals in 57 appearances for the German national team, where they won the 2014 FIFA World Cup. (BRITISH AUTOMOBILE CLUB)
