What have you done, Livakovic!

Dominik Livakovic scored the Croatia-Japan match

In the 2022 FIFA World Cup held in Qatar, regulation time and extra time completed 1-1, Croatia, which had a 3-1 lead over Japan on penalties, advanced to the quarterfinals. Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic starred in the penalty kicks.

The regulation time of the match ended in a draw with goals from Daizen Maeda and Ivan Perisic. Since there was no goal in extra time, the penalty shootout took place in the fight.

Dominik Livakovic, who was huge on penalties for Takumi Minamino, Kaoru Mitoma and Maya Yoshida in Japan, did not allow the goal. In the Far East representative, only Takuma Asano brought the ball into the net in the penalty shootout.

In Croatia, the ball came back from Marko Livaja’s penalty post. Nikola Vlasic, Marcelo Brozovic and Mario Pasalic sent round leather to the networks.

Croatia, which gave Japan a 3-1 lead on penalties, reached the quarterfinals of the 2022 World Cup.

Croatia also dominated their opponents on penalties in the round of 16 and quarter-finals at Russia 2018, where they came second.

DAVOR BROKE SUKER’S RECORD

Croatia’s Ivan Perisic broke Davor Suker’s record of 9 goals in these two organizations by scoring a total of 10 goals in the European Championship and World Cup games with his 55th minute goal.

On the other hand, Ivan Perisic was also a partner in Davor Suker’s 6 World Cup goals after he scored against Japan.

If he scores another goal in the next few rounds, Ivan Perisic will be Croatia’s top scorer at the World Cup.
