Two months of sanction to Verdasco!

Fernando Verdasco sanctioned for two months

According to the statement from the International Tennis Integrity Unit (ITIA), a prohibited substance called methylphenidate was found in the doping test of tennis player Fernando Verdasco, 39, before the ATP Challenger tournament in February.

Although Verdasco has been using this substance for a long time for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), he forgot to get permission and sent his renewed prescription to ITIA.

ITIA announced that Verdasco initially received a two-year ban, which was reduced to two months, taking into account the player’s cheating and willful negligence.

Verdasco, who reached the semifinals of the Australian Open, one of the Grand Slam tournaments, and the quarterfinals of Wimbledon and the US Open, and reached 7th place in the world ranking in 2009, announced that he voluntarily accepted the penalty for your negligence.
