Coco Gauff says goodbye
On the fourth day of the women’s season-ending tournament held in Fort Worth, Texas, USA, the second matches were played in the Tracy Austin Group.
World No.1 Iga Swiatek, who won the French Open and US Open this year, faced sixth seed Caroline Garcia. Swiatek won the fight, which lasted 1 hour and 23 minutes, 2-0 with sets of 6-3 and 6-2 without any difficulties, and got the second win of her group and made a name for herself in the semifinals.
In the other match, Russian Daria Kasatkina, seeded eighth, defeated Coco Gauff (seeded fourth) 2-0 after 1 hour and 40 minutes with 7-6 and 6-3 sets. The American tennis player, who lost both games, had no chance of reaching the semifinals.
The matches of Ons Jabeur-Maria Sakkari and Jessica Pegula-Aryna Sabalenka will be played tomorrow in the tournament at Nancy Richey Group.
Those who occupy the first 2 places in the groups will face each other in the semifinals with a crossed match. The 2022 WTA Finals will conclude with the final match taking place on Tuesday, November 8 at TSI.
