Fenerbahce did not give up against Rennes! Impressive comeback: 3-3

Hosting Rennes in the fifth match of Group B of the Europa League, Fenerbahçe performed a miracle in a match in which they got off to a poor start. Fenerbahce, who saw 4 goals in the first 30 minutes, 1 of them annulled by the ‘VAR’, did not give up. Fenerbahce, who left the field tied 3-3 thanks to their oppressive play in the second half, did not lose their top spot and entered the last week at the top of the group.

Starting the match with Amine Gouiri’s goal in the 3rd minute, Rennes made it 2-0 in the 10th minute, but the VAR detected offside. When the minute marked 16, Rennes, who shook the net again, made it 2-0 with Martin Terrier. Rennes scored a goal with all his accurate shots on goal, and scored again with Gouiri in the 30th minute to make it 3-0 on the scoreboard after half an hour. Fenerbahce, who entered the locker room 3-1 behind with Enner Valencia’s headed goal, was the sole judge of the match in the second half.

Fenerbahce, who made it 3-2 on the scoreboard with Miha Zajc’s free-kick, which came on later in the game, in minute 82, found Emre Mor’s third goal in minute 88 and made it 3-3 in marker. When there was no other goal in the remaining minutes, the fight ended with this score and Fenerbahce gave up their chance to be the leader of the group in last week’s Dynamo Kyiv match.

The Yellow-Navy Blues will face the Ukraine representative on the road on November 3. Before the critical game, Fenerbahce and Rennes took 11 points, while the yellow-dark blue team managed to maintain their leading position with an average.

RENNES STARTS WITH A GOAL

Rennes, who started the game by putting pressure on Fenerbahçe in the forward zone, marked the result of this pressure in the 5th minute. Rennes, who started a quick attack from the left wing after İrfan Can Kahveci lost the ball on his own half, found the goal with a single shot from Amine Gouiri off a pass from Adrien Truffert and went ahead 1-0. İrfan Can Kahveci’s objections that he was fouled were unsuccessful.

RETURN OF THE SECOND GOAL

Facing fast attacking and pressured football from Rennes, Fenerbahçe saw the second goal in the 10th minute, but VAR intervened. The ball hit the net on Majer’s hard shot from outside the penalty area. Following a VAR check, the position was determined to be offside earlier and the goal was disallowed. Minutes after this gold, it was Fenerbahce who attacked fast this time. İrfan Can Kahveci shot when he was on point in front of goal, but the ball narrowly missed.

THE FIRST HALF LIKE A NIGHTMARE

Fenerbahce, who wanted to balance the game after the goal disallowed by VAR decision, was powerless against the rapid attacks of Rennes. In the 16th minute of the match, Amine Gouiri took the ball that was lying between the defense and passed it to Martin Terrier. Terrier sent a hard spot into the corner, making the score 2-0. The three shots that hit the Fenerbahçe goal, one of which was disallowed, resulted in a goal.

It was repeated in the 30th minute that every shot he hit into the Fenerbahçe goal was a goal. At a time when the defense was lacking, Gouiri received the ball in the penalty area, with a low pass from Benjamin Bourigeaud down the right wing. The star footballer sent his place to the corner without waiting and made it 3-0 in the situation.

IMPRESSIVE GOAL OF VALENCIA

Fenerbahce, who did not leave the game despite the different score, managed to break through the tough rival defense with Enner Valencia’s headed goal in the 42nd minute. İrfan Can Kahveci crossed the free kick very well on the right wing. Valencia, who had been running from behind, sent the ball into the net with a header and made it 3-1 on the scoreboard. In the last minute of the first half, Fenerbahce, who did not know how to take advantage to reduce the difference with Miguel Crespo to 1, entered the locker room behind 3-1.

DOĞAN ALEMDAR ENTERS THE GAME

Rennes goalkeeper Mandanda, who was injured at the start of the second half, left the match and was replaced by Turkish glover Doğan Alemdar. At Fenerbahçe, coach Jorge Jesus made four substitutions. Michy Batshuayi, Emre Mor, Ezgjan Alioski and Miha Zajc were the names that came into play.

VS VALENCIA…

Enner Valencia could not take advantage of an important opportunity in the match, which was idle until the 70th minute of the match. The pass sent by Emre Mor to the penalty area bounced off the Rennes defense and stayed in front of Valencia. Facing the goalkeeper on the left diagonal, the Ecuadorian player’s shot went wide.

ZAJC HAS WAITED FROM THE FRICK

Mounting the pressure as the final minutes approached, Fenerbahce reduced the difference to 1 with Miha Zajc’s free-kick in the 82nd minute. Fenerbahce won a free kick from a spot overlooking the castle from the left diagonal while Enner Valencia stayed on the ground. Zajc, who was on top of the ball, defeated goalkeeper Doğan with a tremendous shot and made it 3-2 on the scoreboard.

EMRE MOR REALIZES DREAMS

Fenerbahce, who did not stop fighting Rennes, came back with Emre Mor in the 88th minute. As Rennes tried to leave their own pitch, Miguel Crespo stole the ball from his rival and the ball landed in front of Emre Mor. Emre Mor, after moving with the ball to the penalty area, made a nice shot from the right diagonal with the inside of his foot and scored the equalizer. As there was no other goal in the remaining minutes, Fenerbahçe left the field with a 3-3 draw.
