Two days after the election, both scouts came to the then Speaker of the House Arib and Omtzigt’s name had already fallen there. “Apparently they said they want the CDA in a coalition and that Omtzigt might be a risk because she might have received more votes than Wopke Hoekstra.”

Van der Plas wants to know, among other things Why that would be a problem – Pieter Omtzigt is, in his view, “a fantastic Member of Parliament”. He also wants to know why people are mentioned during recons. “This is simply unheard of for me and for many other MPs as well.” Whatever van der Plas wants to know: who knew?
‘Has this been discussed with political leaders? Has this been discussed within the VVD?’ According to Van der Plas, some things may have been set in motion earlier. What strikes her most is that apparently no one knows how the name Omtzigt ended up on Ollongren’s paper. Van der Plas calls it “strange” and “very incredible”.
Ollongren location, function elsewhere?
What does this mean for Kajsa Ollongren who is now defense minister? “To be honest, I still have my doubts that it means nothing to his position.” Van der Plas says he wants to wait for the hearing and debate first, but he warns that if Ollongren has not knowingly told the truth, he will find that a problem.
