Curren Price faced serious questions about money and his wives long before DA filed charges

Prosecutors this week accused Los Angeles City Council member Curren Price of having financial interests in development projects he voted on
,
and tentatively receiving tens of thousands of dollars in medical benefits from the city
–
wife while still married to another woman.
He faces 10 counts of embezzlement, perjury and conflict of interest. His spokesman said Price looks forward to defending himself once he has had a chance to address these allegations.
The allegations come four years after a Times investigation revealed questions about Price’s voting on cases involving his wife’s consulting firm.
In its 2019 investigation, The Times found that Price had “repeatedly cast votes that influenced housing developers and other firms listed as clients of his wife’s consulting firm. $10,000 in revenue for Del Richardson & Associates, according to its annual financial revelations and council reports reviewed by The Times.” Price denied any wrongdoing at the time.
In 2017, questions were raised about whether his divorce
ever
became final before remarrying.
