Brentwood residents saw a familiar face shoveling asphalt repair mix into a pit on Tuesday: Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The frustrated former governor and movie star took to the streets with a shovel and bucket with a “do it yourself” attitude after saying he waited three weeks for the city to repair its local road.

“Today, after the entire neighborhood was upset about this giant pothole that has been ruining cars and bikes for weeks, I set out with my team to fix it,” said Schwarzenegger. said in a tweet. “I always say, let’s not complain, let’s do something about it. Please.”

Last week, Los Angeles officials acknowledged a surge in requests to repair roads after heavy rainfall.

Los Angeles has received 19,642 pothole repair requests since December, according to Keith Mozee, general manager of the Bureau of Street Services.

The city expects all repair work on the pits to be completed by the end of April, he said.

A spokesman for Schwarzenegger said residents of Brentwood have repeatedly requested repairs, according to the Associated Press.

Schwarzenegger, 75, ended his term as Republican governor in 2011. He is a former professional bodybuilder and writes a daily fitness newsletter called “The Pump Club.”
