Opposition House Furious Because Coalition Doesn’t Want Debate On Elections Related Articles

All the opposition in the House is furious because the coalition parties do not want a parliamentary debate in the plenary on the results of the provincial elections. GroenLinks leader Jesse Klaver had asked for it.

The election triggered a political landslide, with a big victory for the BBB and a defeat for the four coalition parties, all opposition party leaders said. Too early and not the place, think VVD, D66, CDA and ChristenUnie. The CDA first wants to recover from the “thud” of the huge loss.

The coalition parties also believe that an interpretative debate on the elections belongs to the provinces, and not to the plenary hall of the House of Representatives. This was met with contempt by the opposition benches.
