In view of the provincial states and water council elections on March 15, BNR will keep you fully informed! Before the election you can hear the latest news on BNR. On March 15 itself, the whole day is dedicated to the celebration of democracy.


This is how you follow the elections at the BNR

On 15 March you will hear the first news about Election Day from Bas van Werven and Iwan Verrips in De Ochtendspits. BNR political reporter Sophie van Leeuwen drops by for the latest political news. Bas and Iwan look forward to the results with Frank van Dalen (Political Academy) and Madeleine van Toorenburg (Candidate Member of Parliament for the CDA).

For floating voters, it is possible to hear a debate between various young people from political parties in BNR BREEKT from 11am. They will discuss topics related to the nitrogen crisis, housing and energy.

The DailyMove

From 4pm on The Daily Move you can hear a look into the election campaign with Jack de Vries (former CDA campaign manager) and Roderik van Grieken (director of the Netherlands Debate Institute). Former Senate Speaker Ankie Broekers-Knol will also come to speak about the power of the Senate.

Studio The Hague: extra!

On Twitter Spaces, the well-known voices of Studio Den Haag will be waiting for election night from 19:00. Follow the special live stream via the BNR twitter channel. You can even ask election questions there!

BNR: The evening of the results

BNR’s special election broadcast will then start at 20:00. With presenters Liesbeth Staats and Kees Dorresteijn you will be guided through the first results and exit polls. Furthermore, political journalists Leendert Beekman and Mats Akkerman interpret the first results and political scientist Mariken van der Velden provides her analysis. With them you will also hear the very first reactions to the results of the most important politicians.

You’ll also hear from Peter Boelhouwer, professor of the housing market, about the consequences for the housing market and construction. With energy and climate reporter Mark Beekhuis, Liesbeth and Kees watch the water commission election.
