The party leader stresses that a ‘taboo’ on the Nitrogen and Climate Act ‘is not done’. ‘We can talk to ourselves about anything and we want to talk to everyone. But if people say the Nitrogen and Climate Act is taboo to them, it’s going to stop at some point. We have to move forward.’
The coalition parties have the majority in the House of Representatives for the nitrogen law. However, there is still no majority in the Senate. There is no support from parties such as GroenLinks, PvdA and SP, who believe that industry, mobility and aviation must also contribute to a solution.
Buy farmers
D66 has long been dissatisfied with how the parties are dealing with the nitrogen crisis. The VVD and CDA strongly oppose this and believe that D66 is polarizing in this area.
