“And if you look at where these differences are, then the differences between the Labor Party and GroenLinks on the one hand and the VVD on the other are big,” says Schippers. According to Schippers, raising taxes is Pavlov’s reaction from the left, but it is unwise to ask citizens to do so.
“Especially in the situation you’re in right now. In which you ask a lot of citizens and companies.’ Schippers refers, among other things, to the energy transition in combination with sustainability and in this sense “does not automatically put the bill on citizens and businesses”, but on the government.
Wrong way
Schippers points out that the left has proposed nine tax hikes and calls them “just in the wrong way.” “A thriving economy is the best guarantee of having money for the police and for education and welfare as well.”

Choices

Or do you want taxes to rise for citizens and businesses? This is a very clear choice. I see that choice over and over again. I see this reflected in the plans from D66 and GroenLinks that they have been filing for some time. But I also see it reflected in the response. We have set a maximum price, which must be paid.
