Former councilor Richard de Mos of The Hague is expected to receive an unconditional 22-month prison sentence. This is what the public prosecutor asked the Rotterdam court on Wednesday. He should also be barred for four years from being a municipal, provincial or water councilor.
De Mos is suspected of corruption. In exchange for donations to his party, he would help entrepreneur friends, even with permits.
Co-defendant Rachid Guernaoui, who was also an alderman in The Hague, was granted a request for sixteen months, six of which were conditional, and a four-year ban on directing.
