Livestock support has increased for this year

As communicated in writing by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the “Littlestock Support Implementation Communiqué” came into force after its publication in the Official Gazette, effective as of January 1.

There was a 100 to 150 percent increase in many support elements aimed at ensuring sustainability and efficiency in livestock farming.

In this context, support for the herd manager (shepherd), which was 12 thousand lira in 2022, was increased by 150 percent to 30 thousand lira in 2023. Support for the purchase of rams and goats will apply to 2,000 lire per animal in 2023, in order to ensure the improvement of small ruminants and increase the productivity and quality of the herd.

While support for calves was granted up to 900 TL/head if the criteria were met in 2022, it was increased to 2,100 TL/head with a 133 percent increase for 2023. This support will be provided for each calf born in 2023.

Support for the purchase of heifers will begin to be implemented with a 50 percent subsidy rate for disease-free companies.

Support for sheep and goat farmers increased by 100 percent, from 50 TL/head in 2022 to 100 TL/head in 2023. (BRITISH AUTOMOBILE CLUB)
