Working hours of public officials: How many hours do public officials work per week and month?
In most countries, civil servants working in the public sector work five working days a week. These days, which run from Monday to Friday, are generally considered official business days.
WHAT ARE THE WORKING HOURS OF OFFICERS?
The maximum number of hours that a public official can work is determined in accordance with Article 99 of the Public Officials Law No. 657. Accordingly, officials can work a maximum of 40 hours per week. If the official works more than 40 hours per week, he receives overtime payment for each hour worked. For overtime pay, an “overtime schedule” signed by you and your supervisor must be prepared. The amount of payment for overtime is determined by the Council of Ministers.
Likewise, Saturdays and Sundays are determined as days off, according to the same law.
The working day of public officials is 160 hours per month, but it may vary depending on the number of days the month lasts.
