The number of buildings with construction permits increased by 25 percent in the third quarter

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced construction permit statistics for the third quarter: July-September 2023.

Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, 2023 III. In the quarter, the number of buildings for which municipalities granted construction permits increased by 24.9 percent, the number of apartments increased by 35.0 percent and the area increased by 21.7 percent.

2023 III by municipalities. While the total area of ​​buildings for which construction permits were issued in the quarter was 39.1 million m²; Of these, 21.0 million m² were residential, 10.0 million m² were non-residential and 8.1 million m² were common use areas.

This was followed by single-family buildings with 3.5 million m².

Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, 2023 III. In the quarter, the number of buildings for which municipalities granted occupancy permits decreased by 13.7 percent, the number of apartments decreased by 14.9 percent and the floor area decreased by 14.0 percent.
