Retail sales declined in September

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced retail sales indices for September 2023.

Retail sales volume at constant prices increased by 13.8 percent in September 2023 compared to the same month a year earlier. In the same month, sales of food, beverages and tobacco increased by 13.8 percent, sales of non-food products (excluding automobile fuel) increased by 18.6 percent, and sales of automobile fuel decreased by 1.5 percent.

Retail sales volume at constant prices decreased by 0.7 percent in September 2023 compared to the previous month. In the same month, sales of food, beverages and tobacco remained at the same level, sales of non-food products (excluding automobile fuel) decreased by 1.2 percent, and sales of automobile fuel increased by 0 .1 percent.

Retail turnover at current prices increased by 85.7 percent in September 2023 compared to the same month of the previous year. In the same month, sales of food, beverages and tobacco increased by 90.2 percent, sales of non-food (excluding automobile fuel) increased by 89.9 percent, and sales of automobile fuel increased by 67 percent. .2 percent.

Retail turnover at current prices increased by 4.2 percent in September 2023 compared to the previous month. In the same month, sales of food, beverages and tobacco increased by 5.1 percent, sales of non-food products (excluding automobile fuel) increased by 3.5 percent, and sales of automobile fuel increased by 5.1 percent.
