According to the “Report on Workplace Murders in the AKP Years” prepared by the Kocaeli Workers’ Health and Safety Council, at least 32,180 workers have lost their lives in workplace murders since the AKP arrived. to power on November 3, 2002.

The report states that in the past 21 years, many major murders have occurred in workplaces, such as Soma, Amasra, Hendek, Davutpaşa, Ostim, Torunlar, Ermenek, Elbistan, Şırnak, Dursunbey, 3rd Airport, Tuzla Shipyards, Denim Sandblasting . .

* According to data from the ILO and WHO, 4 to 12 new cases of occupational diseases are expected per year for every thousand workers. Again, deaths from occupational diseases are approximately 5 to 6 times higher than deaths from occupational homicides. However, SSI detects about 500 occupational diseases each year and announces between 5 and 20 deaths from occupational diseases each year.

* After the workplace murders, injustice and impunity became the norm. In these cases, the main perpetrators could not be brought to justice and the secondary perpetrators were sentenced to short prison sentences, which were converted into fines and paid in 24-month installments.

*In addition to working in businesses where children are prohibited, children under 15 years of age are also employed. Due to reasons such as poverty, the 4+4+4 education system, apprenticeships and apprenticeships, and the fact that the backbone of seasonal agricultural work is made up of children, between 60 and 70 children die each year while working , a third of those who were 14 years old and younger.
