Investors seek stability and climate, not incentives
While the economic leadership presents its new roadmap with the Medium Term Program, the business world expects stability for investments and a permanent decrease in inflation. Bülent Eczacıbaşı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eczacıbaşı Holding, pointed out that it is not possible to attract investors with short-term incentives and goals, noting that investors look at the “climate” and stability of the country.
“The indispensable condition of the investment climate is stability. Low inflation. Eczacıbaşı, who said: “It is absolutely necessary to reduce inflation,” made the following assessment about investors’ expectations: “What are foreign investors looking for in a country? He is looking for consistent policies. He is looking for trained labor. He is looking for law. But it generally does not look for incentives. That is, if the roots of the business are strong, incentives take third or fourth place. Of course, incentives such as free delivery of land and tax exemption are significant. But these are not very effective in the investment decision. “The most important thing is to guarantee an environment of trust for the future,” he stated.
WITHDRAWAL BY FOREIGN LAW
Eczacıbaşı, who evaluated the economic developments at the meeting held on the occasion of the fifth ceramic sanitary ware facility inaugurated by the group in Bilecik Bozüyük, pointed out that it is possible to control inflation and create a climate of stability and investment in Turkey. Noting that inflation is a problem for the whole world, Eczacıbaşı stated that countries that overcome it will come to the fore in the competition in this period.
Eczacıbaşı said: “I have been many times with foreign investors who said these things to our prime ministers and ministers. When inviting these investors, we must attract them not with tax cuts or incentives, but with our trained workforce, consistent policies and legal system. “Stability will not reach the desired point in six months, perhaps it will arrive in two or three years,” he said.

The DPT vacancy could not be filled
Bülent Eczacıbaşı pointed out that planning is indispensable in the economy and pointed out that a structure such as the State Planning Organization is needed again. “The State Planning Organization can be restored and restructured according to the needs of the moment. You can criticize the DPT, you can talk about its defects, but we see that it is not easy to fill the void it left. “I believe in the benefit of planning for the future with a structure that complements each other like two wheels, including the private sector together with the state,” Eczacıbaşı said, adding that access to financing has improved, but normalization is still necessary.
