President Erdoğan shopped at the Agricultural Credit Cooperative sales store located near his home in Kısıklı, Istanbul on October 3, 2021.

Accompanied by his wife Emine Erdoğan, his daughter Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar and his granddaughter Canan Aybüke, Erdoğan filled two shopping carts with products such as chips, nuts, cookies, wafers and fruit juices.

Erdoğan, who paid 1,002 lira in total, said in his statement at the exit of the market: “As you can see from our Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, the market here is actually quite affordable in terms of various products, quality and prices. “It’s really a place where prices are affordable for our citizens,” he said.

Using a photograph of Erdoğan taken in front of the aisle of cookies, wafers and crackers while shopping, SÖZCÜ examined the price movements of these products over the past two years.
