Patience to the nation, 155.7 percent increase to Diyanet

The Presidency of Religious Affairs, which advises the public to save and be patient, will also receive money next year.

According to the draft budget for 2024 presented by the Presidency to the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the Diyanet budget, which was allocated 35.91 billion lira at the beginning of this year, will be increased to 91.825 billion lira. next year, with a whopping 155.7 percent increase.

Diyanet will use 77.6 billion lira of the huge allocation of 91.8 billion lira to pay the salaries of religious officials such as imams, preachers, preachers, trustees and other staff.

The salary burden of Diyanet, whose personnel subsidy this year is 28.8 billion lira, will increase by 169.6 percent next year. In addition to the salary increases, this increase will make effective the hiring of new imams.

Diyanet’s purchases of goods and services from abroad will increase by 110 percent in 2024.

85.1 PERCENT INCREASE IN PALACE ALLOCATION

The expenditure allocation to be transferred to the Presidency from the budget next year will increase from 6.6 billion lira to 12.284 billion lira, an increase of 85.1 percent.

While the biggest increase in palace expenses will be in payments to staff at 136.8 percent, the purchase of goods and services necessary to meet daily needs will be the largest item at 6.9 billion lire .

Next year, 1,344 million lire will be spent on the maintenance and repair of the palace.
