Since the calculated amount of unemployment benefit cannot exceed 80% of the gross amount of the monthly minimum wage, the monthly amount of unemployment benefit that must be paid to the insured unemployed person is calculated in this way.
HOW IS THE UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFIT CALCULATED?
The daily unemployment benefit is calculated as 40% of the insured’s average daily gross earnings, taking into account the premium-based earnings of the last four months. The amount of unemployment benefit calculated in this way cannot exceed 80% of the gross amount of the monthly minimum wage. Unemployment benefit is not subject to any tax or deduction, except stamp duty.
CONDITIONS OF APPLICATION FOR UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFIT
It is necessary to submit an application to the nearest İŞKUR unit within 30 days after the termination of the service contract. The application can be made by coming to the İŞKUR unit in person or electronically at www.iskur.gov.tr. If the application is not submitted within 30 days, except in the case of force majeure, the delay in the application is deducted from the total term of the right.
For unemployment benefits to be paid, insured unemployed people must be prepared to get a job. With the application for unemployment benefit, the person’s registration as a job seeker is made or updated. In this way, the insured unemployed receive counseling, job placement and vocational training services. Therefore, it is not possible to submit an application with power of attorney.
