They were met with disappointment in the Agricultural Credit markets where it was said that there would be a discount.

The Turkish Agricultural Credit Cooperative announced that there will be discounts on some food products starting October 16.

The statement indicated that “There will be a discount of up to 50 percent on essential products such as cheese, rice, chickpeas, lentils, sunflower oil, tomato paste, tea, flour and cleaning products such as detergent, soap.” . , paper napkins and paper towels.”

In the statement made by officials of the Agricultural Credit Cooperative, the following statements were made:

“In response to the call of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to chain markets to support the fight against inflation and the cost of living, within the scope of our new campaign that will start on October 16, 2023, in addition to our existing discount campaigns ; Discounts of up to 50 percent will be given on essential products such as milk, cheese, rice, chickpeas, lentils, sunflower oil, tomato paste, tea, flour and cleaning products such as detergent, soap, napkins and paper towels .

Besides; “We have decided to continue our fresh produce discount campaign in grocery stores for fruit and vegetable products such as potatoes, onions, apples, oranges, tomatoes and cucumbers, which we sell directly to our farmers on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.”

CITIZENS AGAIN COULD NOT FIND THE DISCOUNT THEY EXPECTED

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that there would be a big discount with the instructions he gave in August 2022 in the Agricultural Credit Cooperative markets, where he bought snacks and paid 1002 lira in October 2021 and found the “very reasonable” prices.

In 2022, many citizens flocked to the Agricultural Credit Union markets early in the morning due to the discount sales that were announced for August 15, but could not find the discount they expected.

Following the statement made by the Agricultural Credit Union last week that there will be a discount of up to 50 percent on some food and cleaning products on October 16, citizens again headed to the Agricultural Credit Union markets this morning.

However, citizens could not find the discount they expected this year, just like last year. Many citizens who were unable to see discounts on the products they would purchase had to return home empty-handed and empty-handed.

WITHIN 2 MONTHS, TASKS WILL INCREASED TOTALLY

The SÖZCÜ journalist, who saw the labels in the Eskişehir Şirintepe Agricultural Credit Cooperative store on the anniversary of August 15, when it was announced that there would be a discount following the instructions given by President Erdoğan last year, found that the Product prices had increased one after another in the past year.

In the period of 2 months since the product labels were displayed on August 15, 2023, it was determined that the products in the Agricultural Credit Union markets had increased one after another. The SÖZCÜ journalist, who examined the prices in the store a day before the indicated date of up to 50 percent discount on food and cleaning products on October 16, observed that there was no change in prices on the date indicated and the day before.

Last year’s prices for some of the products in the Agricultural Credit Union markets, the prices the day before the discount and the prices of the products on October 16, when the discount was declared, were as follows:

ZEYTIN BECAME ZAM CHAMPION

Farm Credit Union stores received a raise after price increases over a 2-month period. Black olives were among the most expensive products. Black olives, which were priced at 29.50 per 500 grams on August 15, arrived on the shelves of Agricultural Credit Cooperative markets for 42 lira on October 15.

Another of the products with the highest prices was ground meat. Minced meat, which was sold at 95 lira and 90 kuruş per 400 grams, went to 135 lira and 90 kuruş. While 5 kilos of raw rice increased from 235 lira to 253 lira, 450 grams of honey, which cost 64 lira and 90 kuruş, became 79 lira and 90 kuruş. The price of a 16-pack of toilet paper and a pound of beans has not changed. In addition to the products that increased, there were also products whose prices decreased. While the price of 5 liters of sunflower oil fell from 175 lira to 164.50 lira, the price of green lentils also became cheaper.

“I arrived early in the morning.”

Citizens who queued in front of the Agricultural Credit Union markets early in the morning in the hope of obtaining a discount were met with disappointment. Murat Demiral claimed that he came because there was an early morning discount and said: “When I arrived, there were at least 50 people in front of me. The prices are affordable! They are deceiving people. There is no discount on prices. “They’re just tricking people into this market,” he said.

AGAIN THEY DIDN’T FIND THE RIGHT PRICES

Citizens who went to the Agricultural Credit Cooperative stores did not find adequate prices again. Citizens who stated that they did not find the discount they expected said:

* The prices are not good at all. They are deceiving people. We left without buying anything.

* The prices are not affordable. There is no 50 percent discount.

* There is no 50 percent discount. They only gave a discount on broken rice. It’s the same everywhere anyway. Normally, our President said last night that there is a 50 percent discount on dried vegetables. He said there would be a 50 percent discount on the 16th of the month. But there is no discount. Discounts were offered for dried beans and oil, cheddar cheese and dairy products. But none of them have a 50 percent discount.

* Unfortunately the prices are not affordable.

* Like I said, there is no discount. There were only discounts of 3 to 5 lira. When we came yesterday, the prices were the same.

* No, I don’t have a discount mattress. He lies, he always lies. I only bought toilet paper.

* There is no discount or anything. I wish I hadn’t come. The prices are the same. I bought it while it was on the market. If I had known, I wouldn’t have come. He would have bought it 10 cents more expensive, at least he wouldn’t have carried it from here to home.
