In today’s edition of the Official Gazette, the regulations of the Information and Communications Technologies Authority (BTK) were published, which amends the regulations on the registration of devices with electronic identity information.

According to the regulation, the term will be reduced for unused, illegal, lost, stolen devices, whose electronic identity information has been modified or copied to other devices, they will be removed from the white list, included in the black list and disconnected. from 7 years to 1 year from January 1, 2024.

WILL BE DISCONNECTED IF NOT USED FOR 1 YEAR

In this context, the communication connection of mobile phones in the BTK database that have not been used for 1 year continuously will be disconnected within 24 hours and the device information will be blacklisted.

If the blacklisted device is used again with a subscriber number, the IMEI number of the device will be registered again and whitelisted after notification by the GSM operator. This request could be made previously through the importer or manufacturer of the device.

According to the transitional article added to the regulation, if the end user of a device included in the blacklist does not match the BTK records, the request for new registration of the IMEI number of the device in question may be made through the importer or manufacturer of the device. device.
