The 2024 budget will be discussed next week
The draft budget discussion schedule for 2024 has been announced in the Planning and Budget Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
The Central Government Budget Bill 2024 will be presented to Parliament on October 17.
The committee’s discussions on the Budget Law and the proposals for the Final Accounts Law of the Central Government 2022 and the reports of the Court of Auditors are expected to last a month.
After the commission negotiations are completed, the process will continue in the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
THE MEETINGS WILL START WITH THE PRESENTATION OF YILMAZ
According to the draft program of the Planning and Budget Commission, budget negotiations will begin with Vice-President Cevdet Yılmaz’s presentation to the Commission on October 20.
After the presentation of the budget, work will be suspended for a week for the preparations of the commission members.
While the Planning and Budget Commission is expected to hold discussions on the general budget on Thursday, October 26, budget discussions of ministries and institutions for 2024 are expected to conclude on Friday, November 24.
Public administration budget discussions in the committee will begin with negotiations on the GNAT budget on Friday, October 27. Next, the budgets of the ministries and other public administrations will be discussed according to the determined calendar.
THE WORKS WILL BEGIN AT 10:00 AM
On Friday, November 24, the articles of the Central Government Budget Bill 2024 and the Central Government Final Account Bill 2022 will also be discussed.
The Planning and Budget Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey will start discussing the budgets of public administrations every day at 10:00 and will work until the end of the daily program. The commission will meet on Mondays at 11:00 a.m.
Once discussions in the Planning and Budget Commission are completed, the 2024 budget is expected to be presented to the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey between December 4 and 15. (AA)
