The Competition Authority carried out an investigation into the issuance of corporate bonds in banks

The Competition Authority (RK) collected information on corporate bond issues from many banks.

According to Bloomberg journalists Aslı Kandemir and Kerim Karakaya, based on sources close to the matter, officials from the institution visited the offices of domestic and foreign banks earlier this week and examined computers and electronic correspondence.

The sources stated that the investigation focused on corporate bond issues. It was unclear what triggered the review of corporate bond issues.

A spokesperson for the Competition Authority had no comment on the matter.

Banks and the private sector have recently accelerated their issuance of debt instruments in the Eurobond market in response to growing investor interest with the implementation of new economic policies.
