A grammage limitation was introduced for tobacco products.
Limitations have been imposed on the supply of crushed tobacco products for hookahs, pipes and vines to the market in terms of diversity of weights.
The announcements of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry regarding the technical regulations for cigars and cigarillos, hookah tobacco products, roll-your-own tobacco products and pipe tobacco products were published in the Official Gazette and came into force.
With these regulations, it became mandatory to comply with the standards for these products determined by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE).
Consequently, the standards TS 13599 Crushed Rolling Tobacco Product, TS 13445 Hookah Tobacco Product, TS 13569 Pipe Tobacco Product and TS 13444 Cigars and Cigars, which are among the technical regulations that must be followed when marketing products of tobacco due to the fight against illegal trade and market demands, were approved by the TSE, through which notifications of existing technical regulations that required compliance with the aforementioned standards were abolished.
With the new communications, deadlines have been set for the transition period, with provisions regarding the reintroduction of tobacco products in the specified categories in accordance with the aforementioned TS rules, and administrative sanctions that will be applied in case of non-compliance.
