Consumer confidence increased in September

The consumer confidence index, calculated from the results of the consumer trends survey conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, increased by 5.1 percent in September, reaching 71.5, while in August it was 68.0.

Thus, the index, which had been falling for three months and reached its lowest level in 14 months, began to rise again in September.

The monthly consumer trends survey measures consumers’ current assessments of their financial situation and overall economy, as well as their future expectations, spending and savings trends.

The consumer confidence index calculated from the survey results can take values ​​between 0 and 200. A consumer confidence index greater than 100 indicates an optimistic situation in consumer confidence, while a consumer confidence index less than 100 indicates a pessimistic situation in consumer confidence.
