They pass the debt to the citizens
100% INCREASED IN 9 MONTHS
Ticket prices have increased 8 times since the beginning of the year 2022. The successive increases in ticket prices made me think: “Is TCDD passing the debt burden on to citizens?” TCDD completed last year with a Treasury debt of 5 billion 728 million 424 thousand TL. In July, TCDD’s debt increased to 7.412 million lira.
The Istanbul-Ankara ticket, which increased from 215 TL to 248 TL at the beginning of the year and from 248 TL to 323 TL in July, increased by 33 percent as of yesterday and became 430 TL. Thus, the rate of increase in the Istanbul-Ankara ticket between January and September reached 100 percent. The Ankara-Konya ticket increased by 37 percent to 200 TL. While the Ankara-Eskişehir ticket increased by 65 percent to 225 TL, the Ankara-Sivas ticket increased by 50 percent to 475 TL and the Izmit-Konya ticket increased by 58 percent to 600 TL.
