The poverty line exceeded 41 thousand TL
The United Metal-İş Class (BİSAM) Research Center announced data on hunger and poverty lines for the period of August 2023.
Consequently, the hunger limit that constitutes the monthly cooking expenditure of a family of four is 12.34 TL in August; The poverty line, which covers all monthly expenses such as rent, bills, transportation, education, health and clothing, increased to 41 thousand 626 TL.
This means that the hunger line increases by 509 TL and the poverty line increases by 1740 TL in one month.
BİSAM announced in July that the hunger line was 11,525 TL and the poverty line was 39,886 TL.

THE COST OF DAILY NUTRITION EXCEEDED 400 TL
The level of hunger reached revealed that the daily cost of food exceeded 400 lira.
According to BİSAM data, the monthly equivalent of food that an adult man must consume to maintain a healthy and balanced diet is 2,385 liras.
This value was 2,276 TL for an adult woman, 2,471 TL for a young man from 15 to 18 years old and 1,651 TL for a child from 4 to 6 years old.
THE HIGHEST COST GROUP IS MILK AND DAIRY PRODUCTS
In daily expenses, the highest cost group in August 2023 was milk and dairy products with a spending requirement of 130.25 lira.
This was followed by a daily spending requirement of 79.28 TL and the minimum amount for the meat, chicken and fish group.
The amount of daily spending on vegetables and fruits reached 84.33 liras.
While the amount to be spent on bread is 33.38 liras per day; It was indicated that 23.42 lire should be spent on fats and oils, 8.13 lire on eggs and 10.59 lire on sugar, honey, jam and molasses.
