TotalEnergies to impose price caps in France in 2024

Following reactions to gasoline prices exceeding 2 euros in some regions of France, TotalEnergies announced that it will maintain the maximum fuel price of 1.99 euros in the country in 2024.

The company issued a statement after the meeting held with fuel distributors and large and medium-sized marketers under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy Conversion.

WILL CONTINUE IN 2024

The statement states that even if prices increase, next year the rate applied to the maximum fuel prices at the 3,400 stations that TotalEnergies has in the country will be maintained.

Consequently, the current maximum price of 1.99 euros per liter for gasoline and diesel will also be valid in 2024.

TotalEnergies had previously announced that fuel prices will not exceed €1.99 at all gas stations, including those on French motorways, until December 31. (AA)
