‘Little Whooper Burger’ Lawsuit Against Burger King

‘Little Whooper Burger’ Lawsuit Against Burger King

A US judge has ruled that Burger King should be sued for making the Whopper appear bigger on its menu than it actually is.

The lawsuit accuses the fast-food giant of misleading customers by showing the burger with the most meat and “overflow” ingredients in ads.

The class action lawsuit against Burger King alleges that the Whopper ads used twice as much meat as the customer was served and were displayed 35 percent larger.

REJECTED THE CLAIMS

Burger King denies allegations that it misleads customers with ads on television and online.

“The grilled beef patties featured in our ads are the same ones used in the millions of Whopper burgers we serve to our customers across the country,” a Burger King spokesperson said in a statement after the decision. .

However, Burger King has previously argued that it is not necessary to serve burgers that look “exactly as pictured.”

CASES OF OTHER FAST FOOD CHAINS

Other fast food chains, such as Burger King, have recently faced legal challenges due to false advertising claims.

Taco Bell was sued in the United States earlier this year for selling pizzas and wraps that allegedly contained half the advertised filling.

Last year, someone in New York filed a class action lawsuit against McDonald’s and Wendy’s, accusing the two companies of unfair and deceptive business practices.

The lawsuit alleged that McDonald’s and Wendy’s hamburgers were advertised as being at least 15 percent larger than they actually were.
