Giant company sold for 1 euro

The Dutch brewer Heineken is reported to have symbolically sold its activities in Russia to the Russian group Arnest for 1 euro.

In a written statement from Heineken it was announced that the exit from the Russian market was completed with the sale of the company’s assets in Russia to the Russian group Arnest for 1 euro.

The Dutch company also informed that the sale agreement has received all the necessary approvals and will probably result in extraordinary operating losses of 300 million euros.

The company owned seven breweries in Russia and had 1,800 employees.

While Heineken announced its intention to leave Russia in March 2022 following the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, the company claimed that the process of leaving Russia took longer than expected.

The Arnest group, which took over the activities of the Dutch beer producer Heineken in Russia, is known as the largest producer of aerosols in Russia, while also producing packaging for cans. The Russian group also operates in the sale of cosmetics and household items. (AA)
